Dear Subscribers,

Thank you for subscribing!

Working on reading and writing for this newsletter has been a fun adventure. As August is drawing to a close, 2020 continues to be a challenging year for so many reasons — COVID-19 is still a thing, the new school year has started differently, and climate change feels more real than ever!

In this week’s collection, we have included some of our own writing from this week and some articles that caught our attention.

Laura wrote about a 3-Step approach to “overcoming” obsessive thoughts that were curated by the medium editors for the Mental Health section. I wrote about the connection between food and mental health, and medium editors curated it for Food and Lifestyle section — we are both excited and energized to keep writing!

With many of us working from home, David Dennis Jr’s article on tips from working from home felt validating of the difficulties of working from home and a helpful reminder on how to make things better. As challenging as adapting to working from home is, Lindsi Katheryn article around why it might not be here to stay was a helpful reminder to enjoy it while it lasts.

Given the stressed-out world we are living in, comes a desire to escape and often that is in the form of a drink — I read an excellent article from Markham Heid on the complicated and nuanced explanation of what alcohol does to a stressed-out brain worth reading.

Do check them out and please feel free to let us know your thoughts or things you would like to read more about

Until next week,

Sincerely,

Science and Soul team.

Happy Reading!!!
